SPRAY HOT MESS, SNAPPIN HOTNESS. NOT FAR TO GO THUGSPORT, GAME GAIN, TOUCH A DIRTY RAINBOW. LOATHING TOMORROW, ALL THAT MATTERS IS NOW. The phrase is read starting on the bottom left towards the right, then right to left in the center row, and left to right at the top.
Wall arranged by Branded Arts and Gabba Gallery. Some process photos via Birdman
Some photos from a cold and snowy tour from Sacramento to New York with road soldiers Persue and Mason. Along the way making stops in Reno, Salt Lake City, Lincoln (Nebraska), Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh and finally to NYC…
Back in 2011, CR painted this wall in Hollywood.
Last week Persue and I came through to repaint the wall. Instead of covering over the previous work, we tried to maintain some of CR’s original strokes. Where the pieces overlap the black we tried changing the color way over to blue…
When we returned to the wall the following day we worked straight into the night until we were done…
Dabs writes: “Before we knew it was One thirty in the morning and we still had the trip back to LA to deal with. But not before Joe added the final touches on the wall that made the day! He added in The Nakatomi Plaza building from Die Hard (with bullet holes and helicopters and everything), and Doc Brown from Back To The Future hanging from the clock on one of the building characters… Proving that sometimes its the little things that make a wall! SOLID GOLD!”
“Yeah, for me personally I thought I didn’t have style for the first 10 years of writing. I had good characters and a few good pieces but I had it all backwards. I spent more time developing my characters then my letters. If you write then you know letters come first. So I started over in 96. I really took steps backwards to re-develop my approach and a lot of that was mainly because of Wane COD.”

Persue: When Rime and I were in Hong Kong at the end of 2008 we had a chance to sit down with Xeme and Redy at Invasian Magazine for an interview. This issue comes with a free poster. You have a 50/50 chance on getting a Persue’/BunnyKitty or Rime poster. Find this mag anywhere they sell fine graffiti supplies,(I think). Or inquire about it HERE.
